What do you do for a living?
Every time someone asks me, “What do you do for a living?”
I instinctively want to reply: I enjoy life.
Yes, that’s what I do for a living — I live fully and intentionally. I savour my days. I find meaning in moments.
Most people hear that question and immediately think of a job title, a career path, or how they earn money.
But I don’t — and why should I?
If you want to know how I make money or what my job is, I can certainly answer that. Those are just tools — practical things that help me pay my bills. But they are not what I live for.
Let’s not reduce life to an endless loop of working just to survive. I believe we’re meant to do more than just get through our days. I believe we’re meant to live them. Really live them.
And I hope you do too.
Too many people die with dreams still inside them — passions unexplored, joys postponed, peace never prioritised.
So why is it so important to make space for joy, for rest, for self-discovery?
Because life is fragile.
Today, I was in a car accident — completely not my fault — and it shook me. Because in that moment, I realised this could have been it. Just like that — my story, over.
So why are we here?
To learn. To grow. To love. To laugh. To experience.
Surely, we didn’t come to this life just to worry, to stress, to chase numbers and paychecks. My priority now is to live the right way — with meaning, with joy, and yes, with fun. No apologies.
And I want to encourage you to do the same.
It’s okay to pause a project to walk on the beach.
It’s okay to change your calendar to put yourself first.
It’s okay to stop for a quiet coffee alone after work.
It’s okay to say no to plans so you can say yes to what lights you up.
You are here for you, first.
So, enjoy your life. Enjoy yourself.
You don’t owe the world endless productivity — but you do owe yourself a life that feels good to live.
With love,
Isabelle
